Camille Bird completed 600 credit hours of schooling at The American Institute of Massage and passed the MBLEx national exam. Her focus is on deep tissue work, specifically Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release. Camille strongly believes that energy work balances massage (both for the client and the therapist) and is necessary for true healing. The power of massage is only enhanced by putting the client at ease and allowing their body to relax, release and heal.
"It is my philosophy that with slow and steady movements, greater work can be done from the inside out. I sometimes describe my work as a steamrolling of the muscles..."
Still want to know more about me?
Well...okay then!
Camille Bird...Super Star, Rock Star and Super Nova (like the car)...was born on November 18th nineteen hundred and seventy seven in Salt Lake City, Utah. She began writing/producing/directing all of the family performances including, but not limited to: What’s in Grandma’s Purse?, What’s in Grandpa’s Wallet? The Musical, and the yearly Christmas Pajama Parade. She toured nationally with her stand-up comedy and original one woman show “Rollercoaster Me…Love Letters I Never Sent…a nocturnal escape route to surviving life and love.”
Although not the most talented musician she certainly is entertaining. You will not find a saw, ukulele, spoons, kazoo, harmonica, bucket, zills or tambourine that can out master her and she is nothing if not well rounded. “I am at home on stage…it’s the place I get to be all of the Camille’s I dream of being. I just wanna sleep less, dress up funny, and grow up to be delightfully crazy. From up here in La La Land…things look really different…and it’s just enough quiet and just enough loud. We’ll see if it sounds the same when I get batteries for my bullhorn…”
At the end of her comedy tour in 2007 she bought a house, found a puppy and settled down for six months. Perfect time for opportunity to knock, eh. Circumstances (sometimes known as love) brought her to Richmond, VA. She worked at Whole Foods Market and surrounded herself with fresh, delicious food. I honed some business, marketing and people skills and while commuting to Charlottesville and missing out on the "circumstances" that moved me to Richmond in the first place...I remembered. I ALWAYS wanted to be a massage therapist.
A few months before I graduated from high school I had a long chat with my grandparents. My grandmother said so kindly, "Massage therapy, huh...well, you could do that after college."
Sooooooooo...we compromised and I went to art school. I spent a lot of time doing a lot of living...had many great adventures...and now find myself in a more sacred and learned space to be able to give of myself and help others with massage. Most importantly, I have learned to have a great respect for patience. Patience for all things...for all people...and in every moment.
Hello, friend...I'm glad you're here.
